Our primary product is to provide custom or prescription foot orthotics to accommodate or correct medical conditions, defects or injuries to patient’s feet. We have a Footmaxx computer system that we use to scan the patients feet in motion. The electronic scan records 960 points 30 times a second. The result is a gait and pressure analysis that is used to accurately design and manufacture the foot orthotics. We make extremely thin orthotics. This is important because thin orthotics are easier to fit into the patients existing shoe wardrobe. We find that patients wearing our orthotics have a high rate of compliance in wearing their orthotics. Another benefit of the Footmaxx system orthotics is it is very easy to make adjustments to them while the patient waits.
We also provide orthotics that are made from biofoam impressions. Typically these are for the diabetic patient or those who have arthritis or deterioration of the fat pads on the bottom of their feet. These patients need a more accommodative type of orthotic. We also cater to the athlete who needs orthotics to protect their feet and or enhance their athletic ability. Footmaxx labs supply orthotics for more professional athletes than any other lab in the world. But, you don’t have to be a professional athlete to wear the same orthotics that are worn by players we watch every week on TV.
It is also important to note that we recondition and recover old orthotics that still have some life in them. We also do shoe buildups and modifications to shoes when orthotics are not a complete solution. An example of this is when a patient has a significant leg length discrepancy. Our buildups look great. Most of the time they are not even noticeable unless you look very close.
Foot Care Plus is also a shoe store. Our primary line is the American made SAS Comfort Shoes. We stock a complete line of sizes in both men’s and women’s comfort and extra-depth shoes. In addition to the SAS shoes we sell Naot Sandals that have removable footbeds that will accommodate orthotics. We also have accounts with several other major vendors such as Drew, Propet, Apex and Markell. What we don’t have in stock we are willing to special order. We are growing quickly and I expect to become north Alabama’s biggest supplier of comfort and orthopedic shoes.
Foot Care Plus also has a large soft goods inventory of just about any item needed for foot care. Our stock includes all sorts of pads, gel inserts, heel cups, lifts, post-op shoes and dozens of other products. What we don’t have in stock we can get in just a few days.
